I am on an extended stay in the United States, until May, and thus reading the paper version of the New York Times rather than online. Thus the Names of the Dead listings on this site will be suspended for that time. But I have noticed that the pace of American deaths has picked up considerably in recent weeks, along with media reports of increased suicide bombings and other attacks--while supporters of the war and some media outlets continue to talk about the success of the "surge."
